CBRN Advanced
Training
Five-day full-cycle programme for teams with CBRN response formally in mandate. Agent identification, multi-casualty decontamination, command coordination, and complete incident management.
What Level 03 Delivers
CBRN Advanced (Level 03) is the operational ceiling for most non-governmental clients. It delivers full-cycle CBRN response capability: agent identification at field level, multi-casualty decontamination under operational conditions, command-coordinated incident management, evidence preservation, and post-incident health monitoring. Personnel completing Level 03 are qualified to manage a CBRN incident from first detection through handover of a secured scene to specialist national services.
Level 03 is a five-day programme structured as two days of advanced theory and equipment work followed by three days of scenario-based practical training. The scenarios are designed around the client's specific operational environment — embassy compound, critical-infrastructure site, corporate facility, or field deployment — using the layouts, population densities, and threat vectors relevant to the client. Scenarios escalate in complexity across the three practical days.
Command-level tabletop exercises run in parallel with the practical exercises for organisations sending both command-level and operational personnel. This enables the command and operational teams to exercise the same scenario from their respective positions — stress-testing both the command decision-making and the operational execution simultaneously.
What the Programme Covers
- Advanced agent identification: field-level confirmation beyond presumptive screening
- Multi-casualty decontamination — triage at the decontamination entry point
- Mass-decontamination corridor management: ambulatory and non-ambulatory casualty streams
- Command coordination during multi-agency CBRN response
- Cross-domain tabletop simulations: chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear scenarios
- Evidence preservation protocols compatible with post-incident investigation
- Post-incident health monitoring — personnel dosimetry review and medical referral pathways
- CBRNe integrated scenarios: combined explosive and CBRN threat management
- Handover to national specialist services: situation report standard and coordination procedure
Prerequisites
Level 02 Basic (or equivalent) plus an operational role with CBRN response formally in mandate. Personnel must be physically capable of sustained full-PPE operation. Pre-programme medical assessment is recommended for personnel over 45 or with cardiovascular conditions.
Who This Level Is For
- Embassy security teams in high-threat postings with standing CBRN response authority
- Corporate emergency-response cells at critical-infrastructure and industrial sites
- Military and police CBRN sub-teams building or maintaining response certification
- Governmental security teams with CBRN response in their statutory mandate
- Private security teams contracted to manage CBRN incidents at protected sites
Next Level: Specialised (Level 04)
Command-level personnel, governmental CBRN leads, and instructors training the levels below require Level 04 Specialised. Vetted attendance only. Bespoke multi-week programme including classified-adjacent procedure development.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does CBRN Level 03 Advanced training cover?
Level 03 covers advanced agent identification, multi-casualty decontamination under operational conditions, mass-decontamination corridor management, command-coordinated incident management, cross-domain tabletop simulations, evidence preservation, post-incident health monitoring, CBRNe combined-threat scenarios, and structured handover to national specialist services. It is a five-day programme with two days of theory and three days of assessed scenario exercises.
How is Level 03 different from Level 02?
Level 02 produces personnel capable of managing a single casualty, controlling a scene, and holding it until specialist services arrive. Level 03 produces personnel capable of managing the full incident — multi-casualty decontamination, command coordination with multiple agencies, evidence preservation, and complete incident management through to secured handover. Level 03 is for teams whose mandate formally includes CBRN response, not just first-on-scene capability.
Can Level 03 training be adapted for our specific facility?
Yes — scenario design is adapted to the client's operational environment as standard. Embassy compounds, critical-infrastructure control rooms, industrial facilities, and corporate headquarters each present different cordon geometry, access-control constraints, and coordination requirements. Mission Support designs Level 03 scenarios using site-specific layouts and the threat vectors most relevant to the engagement. A site visit is included in the programme scoping process.
Is Level 03 CBRN training NATO-compatible?
Yes. Mission Support's Level 03 curriculum mirrors the credentialing architecture of NATO-aligned governmental CBRN programmes and is delivered by instructors with military and governmental CBRN operational backgrounds. The curriculum is compatible with the documentation requirements of NATO-aligned procurement frameworks and can be delivered to clients operating under SOFA or equivalent bilateral agreements.
